Today a couple of good things fell out of the sky on me. I am making sure I seize both of them. It sure is nice to get a little boost when you are feeling a little down. Today I am grateful for opportunity.

When I woke up this morning, as every morning, I had no idea what the day had in store. I was completing my usual rituals to prepare for the day and, in my daily writing, I was jotting down a bit about needing a break and the phone rang. It was a break, or at least an opportunity.
What is opportunity?
Opportunity, according to the dictionary is:
- an appropriate or favorable time or occasion: Their meeting afforded an opportunity to exchange views.
- a situation or condition favorable for attainment of a goal.
- a good position, chance, or prospect, as for advancement or success.

I have been visualizing opportunity every night as I drift off to sleep thanks to Robert Collier’s book The Secret of The Ages. These opportunities materialized as a result of doing that. I have no doubt.
Collier talks about the abundance of opportunity specifically in the chapter titled The Law of Supply:
Get firmly fixed in your own mind the definite conviction that you can do anything you greatly want to do. There is no such thing as lack of opportunity. There is no such thing as only one opportunity. You are subject to a law of boundless and perpetual opportunity, and you can enforce that law in your behalf just as widely as you need. Opportunity is infinite and ever present.
I found that statement to be true today.
Interestingly the opportunities that came along today are ones where I can truly be helpful to someone. Those are always the best kind and the ones I hope keep showing up.
